This year my son, Jeffrey, is playing football. I have been very anxious and like most 'moms' ( it has to be a 'mom' thing) I pray each week that he comes out of the games safe and sound. I must admit that I am also very proud to watch him play. He is trying so very hard and each time he goes out on the field I can see him giving his best to the game and his team mates. This evening he got to play a 'little' extra ( we were winning by 28 points). He made a few tackles and we actually got to hear his name on the loud speaker. We cheered as loud as we could. After the game he came out of the locker room. As usual, he gave me a hug and whispered in my ear, "I heard you all cheering for me - thanks. You guys were really loud." I am hoping that one of these days he realizes that his father and I have been cheering for him before he ever started playing football. Sometimes they were silent cheers, but cheers none the less.

I can't believe that little baby Jeffrey (who used to run around the EA gym) is playing varsity football and is a SENIOR! Kids have to grow up, huh? I know that football is nervewracking- especially for moms. Al said it was great seeing him. He said, "He is not a little boy anymore! He is a big strong young man!" Maybe I can catch a game soon without my busy toddler.
Oh, it was great to see your new post pop up on my sidebar! Keep them coming!
